SSH Tectia Client is the client-side application for the workstation of the original SSH Secure Shell end-users. SSH Tectia Client brings the transparent strong authentication and encryption to the desktops of the Windows and Unix workstations, and enables secure terminal sessions and file transfers to and from the servers. It also enables the secured use of networked applications over untrusted networks.

SSH Tectia client/server solution protects the TCP/IP connections between two computers. The encryption of the connection is done on the application layer, which means that the security provided by SSH Tectia Client is available regardless of the network connection speed or type. SSH Tectia client/server solution works according to the client-server model, which means that the SSH Tectia Client is always the initiator of the secured connection while the SSH Tectia Server is always the responder.

As the original inventor and leading developer of the Secure Shell application and protocol, SSH Communications Security has set the par for Internet security technologies and created a de-facto standard for encrypted terminal connections and secure file transfers.

Localized versions of SSH Secure Shell products (version 3.1) are available in German, French, and Japanese.
