The AES 256-bit hardware encryption incorporated inside the Ruby Cipher enclosure is the most secured storage solution available in the market today, far beyond the security of the TDES 192-bit encryption. Ruby Cipher enclosure is also the first enclosure solution in the market that provides native SATA encryption on the fly with no detectable performance degradation to the hard drive. The Ruby Cipher drive kit is simple to implement. There is no password to remember, no software or driver needed, no special training is need. The best of all, the Ruby Cipher drive kit is 100% OS transparent for easy implementation into any computing environment for absolute data security.
The Ruby Cipher drive kit is the latest Addonics storage solution incorporating a number of new innovative features and enhancements. Designed to connect 2.5" SATA hard drives to any system to deliver peak performance, the Ruby Cipher drive enclosure introduces Addonics first SATA direct bridge design that connects the 2.5" SATA hard drive to the computer in native SATA mode. The Ruby Cipher drive enclosure is the first in the market that comes with built in eSATA and SATA connectors. As a result, the Ruby Cipher drive enclosure can be easily attached to any computer externally via the high performance eSATA port or used like a drive cartridge in the Ruby Cipher drive cradle mounted inside a standard 3 ½” drive bay. The SATA direct bridge in the Ruby Cipher drive enclosure also isolates the SATA hard drive power and data connectors from the wears and tears incurred in some of the removable SATA hard drive systems. The hard drive inside the Ruby Cipher enclosure can practically be accessed by any computer via eSATA or USB connection using the Addonics USB - eSATA Adapter (AAU2ESA).

The Ruby Cipher Drive Kit comes with all the important features that are required in a portable hard drive – rugged anodized aluminum housing for rough handling and efficient heat dissipation, shock proof and vibration protection for the hard drive, light weight and compact size.

Encryption features (for Ruby Cipher only)
- AES 256-bit Full disk encryption via a hardware-based NIST & CSE certified cryptographic AES engine
- High performance - Data is encrypted and decrypted on the fly by a certified cryptographic engine inside an ASIC without taking any CPU resources
- Encryption / Decryption via a hardware key

To enable the encryption and access the drive, simply insert the Cipher key into the keyhole of the Ruby Cipher enclosure prior to turning on the power.
